In August 2025, Raytown’s City Council officially adopted the Comprehensive Plan, a major milestone in shaping the city’s future. This plan is the result of months of collaboration, made possible by the dedication and input of the Raytown community.
Through public meetings, workshops, surveys, and open house events, residents, business owners, and stakeholders helped shape the vision for Raytown’s growth and development. The City of Raytown embarked on a comprehensive planning process that guided the future of the community. The Comprehensive Plan addresses housing, public spaces, economic development, and more. With your support, we identified community needs and aspirations, which informed the Plan and helped us achieve a collective vision for Raytown.

Engagement Opportunities

We will host a high-level visioning session called “Raytown Conversations” to form a foundation of knowledge about the City. The event will feature a presentation, facilitated conversations, and a community open mic aimed at understanding the city’s aspirations. Through this gathering, we aim to grasp the community’s priorities and main concerns, which will play a central role in shaping the overall Comprehensive Plan.

We will host our second Community Open House where we will present our initial findings and encourage community participation in the planning process through interactive activities. This event is intended to reintroduce the planning process to the Raytown community and provide a casual platform for discussing the city’s planning challenges and opportunities in a “Speak-Out” format.
